“ Great food, decent prices, cold local beer and wonderful atmosphere. The building has been beautifully restored. If you dine on the the main floor be sure to visit the second and third floors for a look. We enjoyed the daily special, a smoked meet melt and chili cheese fries. Our son loved the wood fired oven cheese pizza from the kids menu. All the food was fresh and delicious and the staff were fast, efficient and friendly. ”
“ Solid 5 stars for StoneJug! My husband had the Shepherd's Pie, and we shared the Carne Pizza. The Shepherd's Pie is made authentically, with shredded lamb. The serving size is generous, and there was lots of meat in every bite. My husband said it's the best Shepherd's Pie he's had outside of the UK. The pizza is the best in town. The fire grilled taste from the wood oven makes all the difference, as does the fresh ingredients and thin crust. It was a busy evening when we arrived, so the wait for service was a little longer than we would have liked, but was understandable given the amount of staff working and patrons at the restaurant. The service we did receive was excellent. Will be back to try their sandwiches! Thanks! ”
“ Amazing place. Atmosphere and food was phenomenal. Best soup around. Went back twice during our visit. Staff was very friendly and fast. ”
“ Amazing location, the atmosphere and interior design is amazing. Highly recommend for occasions. ”
“ Really good pizza. And the place is so beautiful. You have to eat there if you’re in Carbonear. ”
“ Really good food, fantastic atmosphere in a unique old building from 1860. Has 3 floors, super high ceilings, mix of chandeliers, tin ceiling, huge windows. Don't miss the bathroom on the third floor. Nice variety of salads, elevated pub food, and some Asian flavours like Tuna Poke bowl and Vietnamese Banh mi. Pizza was really solid, thin Neapolitan style cooked in a stone hearth. We had great service from Britanny, friendly, helpful and efficient. Definitely recommended. ”
“ There are a lot of vegan options available and gluten free substitutes as well. This is a beautiful place to eat and enjoy with great service. I recommend eating here to everyone because everything tasted so amazing!!! Pictures are of the vegan mushroom burger/ parm fries with vegan cheese and asian slaw. The others- not vegan cheese pizza, garlic parm fries. ”
“ This magnificent piece of history was such a treat on our little road trip with family. The service was fun, fast and on point. The food was absolutely delicious, served quickly and the plates were LARGE. 6 of us easily shared a plate of nachos as an appetizer, the battered fish is a fillet not a piece, the burger was packed sky high & the ribs are served on a slab of wood cause they won’t fit on a plate! We are thinking of making a trip here a tradition for our family visits. ”
